Minoware, or Mino-yaki 美濃焼 refers to Japanese pottery that was produced in Mino Province around the towns of Tajimi, Toki, Mizunami, and Kawagoei in Gifu Prefecture. Made using the soil of Gifu Prefecture, Minoyaki is the oldest pottery found in Japan and originated in the 7th century.
Throughout Japan's tea ceremony culture, a common purpose is to pursue the natural state of beauty. Thus you will often see teacups and ceramics formed using natural and coarse clay at first. Mixed with different styles of ancient and modern times, you can see the evolution and tradition of these kilns.

The Ash Oribe Yunomi was shipped quickly, and arrived at my place just as quickly, well-shipped and all!
I was looking for a new set of Yunomi (Japanese teacups) to replace the old set of small teacups I have (To that end, I actually ordered, not 1, but 4 of these, in-fact). I also wanted to have traditional Japanese teacups in an effort to be able to properly enjoy Japanese Green Tea with.
Needless to say, these Yunomi didn't disappoint at all. In-fact, they exceeded my expectations! These are very well-made, high-quality Japanese Yunomi that are truly a work to behold up-close, even better than what the pictures suggested (You can feel the quality when you hold it in your hands)! These really elevated my experience in enjoying both Japanese Matcha Tea & Japanese Green Tea!
Overall, a wonderful experience! Thank you so much!
