Minoware, or Mino-yaki 美濃焼 refers to Japanese pottery that was produced in Mino Province around the towns of Tajimi, Toki, Mizunami, and Kawagoei in Gifu Prefecture. Made using the soil of Gifu Prefecture, Minoyaki is the oldest pottery found in Japan and originated in the 7th century.
Throughout Japan's tea ceremony culture, a common purpose is to pursue the natural state of beauty. Thus you will often see teacups and ceramics formed using natural and coarse clay at first. Mixed with different styles of ancient and modern times, you can see the evolution and tradition of these kilns.

So cute! A little smaller than I expected, but I love the way it looks and feels in my hand!
Excellent gift for any tea lover! Came packaged perfectly.
I bought three cups from this seller and I was blown away by the quality. these have become staples in my everyday tea-drinking life. I also want to thank and applaud the seller for their care in how well and securely the cups were packaged. I will be buying from again and recommend
This was a gift for my nephew who is a big tea drinker and who visited Japan and wanted authentic Japanese teacups to use at home. This teacup is authentic, beautiful, and handmade, but it is very hot to hold when filled with tea, so not that practical for use. However, the item is high quality, as described, and was carefully packed and promptly shipped.
I love this beautiful teacup! Very happy with purchase :)
