"Hechimon" is a Shigaraki craftsman's word meaning "windswept things" The various shapes that nature produces, as well as the individuality of each of us. The vessels have a variety of expressions, just like the various shapes created by nature and the individual personalities of each of us.

Shigaraki-yaki 信楽焼 is a type of stoneware made in the Shigaraki Town area of Shiga Prefecture in Japan, and is known as one of the “Rokkoyo” – the six oldest kilns in Japan. Characterized by its thick, fire-resistant clay that expresses the natural feel and beauty of clay.

Throughout Japan's tea ceremony culture, a common purpose is to pursue the natural state of beauty. Thus you will often see teacups and ceramics formed using natural and coarse clay at first. Mixed with different styles of ancient and modern times, you can see the evolution and tradition of these kilns.
