Tokoname-yaki 常滑焼 is one of the six oldest kilns in Japan, a city of pottery steeped in history with a history of over 1000 years. Tokoname-ware is a form of ceramic pottery that is produced in the area around the city of Tokoname in Aichi prefecture. This traditional craft comes from one of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan.
Kyusu (急須) are traditional Japanese teapots mainly made of fired volcanic clay of very high quality. The word "Kyusu" simply means teapot, even though in common usage Kyusu usually does refer to a teapot with a side handle.

A gorgeous teapot with a nice weight to it! The color is more like a jade green in person. The teapot was packaged well, with lots of padding, and it came to me very quickly. Very happy with my new teapot. :)
I was so pleasantly surprised that not only did this item ship and delivery quickly and before Christmas (since it was ordered last minute on December 18th) it was perfectly packaged. The item is fragile and was handled with extreme care from this Etsy Seller. We would definitely order again from this seller. This was also my first time buying on Etsy which was easy and quick.
